On 05-10-2024 I Krishiv and my mother went to a small all girl charitable school where a lot of underprivileged girls are taught to distribute some food and accessories. The amount of misinformation that was spread throughout the ordeal has left me flabbergasted.
when I saw my mother preparing for the distribution event, I asked her why we don’t just create packets which will be easier for you to distribute. My Mother replied that her Friend, through whom we had found out about the school also they very same person had made this appointment for us at that school, had said there is no point in doing that as they all have their plates which they can use to receive food I had found that a bit disorganised but did not argue.
upon our arrival there the teachers had started behaving weirdly stating that the girls have already eaten Biryani and they are not interested in eating all this what you have brought. The disdain in her voice for the food that we had brought for them ticked me off but because it was a place suggested by Mummy’s Friends I kept quietly listening. after some time, the person who we were dealing with suddenly started saying that please leave all the stuff here and we will give it to the girls later and which point I was sure that there was something fishy going on. Before continuing let me list out what we had taken to distribute, there was Dhokla, Bhujia and son Papri (the first 2 are savoury and the other one a Sweet) Banans, Frooti, small KitKat, and in accessories Mummy had bought some hairbands to give out. and the person who was dealing with us said that someone had already distributed Biryani and Big Cadbury Chocolate so the girls are not interested in eating these.
By this point I had completely lost my cool by that point of time. I simply stated if they don’t want to give these things to them, I know another place where we can distribute these so let us leave immediately. The moment I picked-up our stuff and began to leave they made a complete 360 Turn and said Please don’t leave let us ask one more time if the girls want to eat these and unsurprisingly, they were interested in eating, and everyone took everything to eat.
but the entire event left a bad impression on me about the people who profess themselves as care takers of these underprivileged kids
