This is my first post on this blog related to Travel and I visited Cuttack a city in Odisha after 21 years. My Mother’s family resides there so in school years every year for 10 – 15 days we used to visit. This time when all of a sudden I got the craving of relishing the taste of old Cuttack and to revisit old memories. it was a three days and two night trip planned in a whirlwind way
On 16th March 2024, our Journey began we caught the early morning Howrah to Puri Vande Bharat Express which reaches Cuttack around 12:00 P.M. ours was late by 30 minutes. My maternal side family used to live in a place called NAya Sarak but one of my uncles had moved to a place called Trishulia so first we visited there. took another 30 Minutes from Cuttack station to reach Trishulia. and thus began the food journey for cuttack.
We gorged on Biro’s Idli and Ghughni for our Lunch. to say that everyone who tastes it will enjoy is wrong only those who have developed a taste for it overtime can truly appreciate its taste. But once you are hooked on to it, you’ll relish it every single time. Later on we visited Cuttack Chandi Temple for Darshan over there I used fondly eat the small Gulabjamun that they offer as prasadam. I used to and still did one full plate of prasadam by myself. Afterward we moved to Barabati stadium to enjoy Dahi Vada Aloo dum for dinner. The Chaat Chowpaty of Stadium is famous for Dahi Bada aloo dum and a lot of people where there eating it but alas this time the taste did not suit my buds. Yes I did finished the entire plate which was humongous.
the next day we shifted base and it was again time for some dahi vada aloo dum this time we went to Raghu’s who only give dahi vada and aloo dum and no bhujiaa or ghughni on it after which it was time for our journey home.
